ABOUT
D.B.L.
"He’s a hardworking artist who learned the business through me — a great dancer and an incredible entertainer." — Jackie Jackson, The Jackson Five (Billboard Magazine)
D.B.L., founder of Roxxstar Entertainment, first began his career as child performer Donny B. Lord, managed by his aunt, singer-performer and songwriter Sandra Lord. After his mother, Allison, a classically trained professional dancer, recognized his talent, D.B.L. was immersed in a multidisciplinary training environment, studying ballet, modern, jazz, and tap, along with acting, voice, and martial arts. He further developed his craft under esteemed industry professionals, including Brian Reise, Terry Berland, The Groundlings, Judy Carter, and Seth Riggs.
He booked roles for Disney, HBO, Fox, and CBS — most notably co-starring as the young Hank Gathers in Final Shot: The Hank Gathers Story — while also fronting national campaigns for Pepsi, Cheerios, and Foot Locker.
Following features in the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, the Orange County Register, among others, he soon captured the attention of music legend Jackie Jackson.
Rooted in a close familial connection with Jackie Jackson and the Jacksons, D.B.L. honed his craft under Jackson’s mentorship, expanding into songwriting, music production, and instruments including piano, percussion, and guitar — a formative chapter chronicled in Michael Jackson, Inc. by Forbes senior editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg (Atria Books, 2014).
D.B.L.’s music — a dynamic blend of reggae, R&B, Afrobeats and pop — has been licensed across television and major advertising campaigns, including for CBS, MTV, Motorola, and Verizon.

In 2018, D.B.L. signed to Critically Amused, a music label founded by Jackie Jackson, and released Another Round and the Island Vibez EP, both executive produced by Jackson.
With his international fan base expanding, D.B.L.’s follow-up Come Back Home EP brought him back to St. Lucia, where he met the Prime Minister, donated to schools, and mentored at-risk youth. Upon returning to Las Vegas, he received an official endorsement from the Mayor for enriching the city’s cultural landscape, a recognition further amplified by major performances and interviews on 8Now and Fox 5.
Released on October 17, 2025, D.B.L.’s latest single Time To Break Away was written by him, executive produced by Roxxstar, and produced by Tra’zae Clinton, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and grandson of funk legend George Clinton.
The project blends art and activism into a universal rhythm, featuring driving percussion, soldier-like foot stomps, and uplifting chants that pulse like a march for change.
Vishi's Views blog called the project "very powerful and impactful," while D.B.L.'s inspiration behind it was recently featured on Push Podcast 88, available on YouTube.
Performing and traveling across the U.S., the Caribbean, the U.K., and Europe, D.B.L. has developed a sharp global perspective rooted in his island Dougla heritage. Outside of music, he channels his energy into cooking, swimming, and martial arts — practices that reinforce his focus and discipline.
A disciplined and driven student, D.B.L. attended Brentwood School, graduated from the American School in London (U.K.), and went on to earn honors at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, laying the foundation for his multifaceted career.
Through Roxxstar, D.B.L. empowers creatives by combining music, consulting, and strategic PR, helping them elevate their vision and expand their reach.
"At Roxxstar, you’re investing in experience.” — D.B.L.
